Blossoms: eye-catching color contrast, lovely texture variations, and remarkable visual rhythm in the design. It was not even close to Christmas-time when I made this, but I love it all the same!
One thorn: the backdrop for these photos (my tabletop) is in desperate need of refinishing.

I knew I wanted to make a wreath, so I bought this inexpensive metal base that already had the artificial evergreen on it. (Mine was on sale at my local craft store, so it only cost me a couple dollars). Then I gathered some supplies from the hand-me-down artificial floral stash my grandmother gave me. You can find similar supplies at your local craft store (if you like the nicer products) or your local dollar store (if the cheaper kind will do).

I like how red and gold complement each other, so I decided to start with the red berries and gold leaves.
The only tools I needed were my wire cutters and hot glue gun. Both are fairly high quality, and that made my job easier.

Once I had everything gathered, and chose which colors to start with, I then cut the florals down from their original bunches into sprigs.
Placing them evenly spaced around the wreath took a little finesse, but was pretty fun. After this step, I decided the wreath was full enough and looked better without my additional greenery, so I didn’t even start cutting it into sprigs.
Once everything was placed well, I secured each sprig to the metal frame (beneath the evergreen) with some hot glue.

I really enjoyed this process, and the finished product has a fabulous balance of color, texture, and just a little bit of sparkle.
I love the vibrant contrast between the red berries and gold leaves—it creates such a stunning visual appeal. The process of cutting the florals into sprigs and arranging them evenly sounds both meticulous and rewarding. It’s impressive how you managed to achieve such a balanced design without adding extra greenery. The final wreath must look absolutely breathtaking with its mix of color, texture, and sparkle. Did you consider experimenting with other color combinations for future projects?
The floral arrangement described here is truly captivating, with its vibrant red and gold tones creating a beautiful contrast. It’s fascinating how the author carefully planned each step, from selecting colors to arranging the sprigs. The attention to detail, such as securing the florals with hot glue, shows their dedication to the craft. It’s inspiring to see how creativity can transform simple materials into something so stunning. Why did the author decide against adding extra greenery to the wreath?
